Project Overview

GIS (20/66/230 KV) / AREVA France: Aleppo Substation: Complete GIS station including 3×125 MVA transformers (230/66 KV), 3×30 MVA transformers (66/20 KV), 6×100 KVA earthing transformers, 3×230 KV + 3×66 KV + 18×20 KV feeders, DC + Battery, control & protection equipment. Started 2005. Baramkeh Substation (Damascus): Complete GIS station, same configuration. Started 2005.

The Challenge

Installing complete GIS stations in urban environments required precise coordination and strict safety protocols. Working within the existing substation infrastructure while maintaining continuous power supply to critical loads presented significant challenges.

Our Solution

We developed a detailed switching plan that allowed work to proceed in stages while maintaining system reliability. Temporary bypass arrangements were installed where necessary, and extensive pre-commissioning tests verified equipment performance before energization.
