Project Overview

Syria – Iraq 400 KV Interconnection / Siemens PTD: Adra Substation: New 400 KV conventional substations construction. Jandar: Expansion to 5 diameters. Nasserleh: New 400 KV substation with 300 MVA power transformers. Taym and Palmyra: New 400 KV Conventional substations with power transformers, shunt reactors, and auxiliary transformers.

The Challenge

Coordinating an international project across borders with different regulatory requirements, technical standards, and operational procedures. The interconnection needed to ensure grid stability and power quality while allowing bidirectional power flow.

Our Solution

We established a joint project management team and worked closely with Siemens PTD for technical expertise. Advanced protection systems were installed with multiple layers to isolate faults quickly and prevent propagation between grids.
